Avon Canada

Not only am I a beauty junkie, I am also a big online shopper. I have shopped from most of the popular online beauty stores in Canada and since I used to operate Joseibi as an online store, I know what to expect and what to look for. Here are the Canadian beauty sites I frequently shopped from and how they rank:

Avon.ca:
I have made more than 5 purchases in the past 3 months and it has always been good. They ship within 1 to 2 business days and I get it the next day (they ship from Quebec). Shipping is only $5.95 CAD and most of the time it is free during specials and sales. Packing is good, products never arrived damaged and I never had any problems with them.

Thebodyshop.ca:
Shipping is only $5.00 CAD and packing is great. They also ship fast and I never had problems.

DHC Canada: dhccare.ca

Biotherm.ca:
Free shipping is available for orders $55.00 CAD or more which is easily attainable. They ship fast, and pack well. Free samples come with $55.00 orders and are greatly appreciated!

eSkinCareStore.com:
This is one of my favorites and I have shopped from them for a couple of years now. They carry lots of brands – most of them are high end or salon brands. Shipping is $6.99 CAD but is free on orders $120.00 CAD or more. No matter how little you buy, they are always generous with their samples. They also have a US website and ship to the US. Their customer service is good – in case of slight delays they phone you and let you know, and when it arrives it comes with extra bonuses. Definitely a keeper!

Lancome Canada: lancome.ca

Lancome.ca:
Shipping is $8.50 CAD for orders under $80.00 and is free when you order $80.00 or more. During several times a year shipping is free (Christmas, Mother’s Day or special promo). Packs well and comes with samples when you order $80.00 or more. Signature is required for delivery – which might cause some inconvenience for people who aren’t at home and have to pick up the order at their post office though. Overall, great and beautiful website.

Fruits-passion.com:
Shipping is only $5.00 CAD for Ontario and the Maritimes ($10.00 for others) – and considering how heavy their products are, it is a steal. (Shipping is free on orders $85.00 or more) Items are carefully packed and shipped fast. Customer service is also good. They also ship to the US.

L'Occitane Canada: loccitane.ca

essentialdayspa.com:
Based in Vancouver, this is another great online store. Shipping is only CAD$5.00 across Canada which is cheap considering it costs them CAD$9.00 to ship to Ontario! The website is functional although not as nice as the other online stores mentioned so far. You won’t have problems ordering though. They are quite generous with their samples and gifts. Orders are shipped free on orders $200.00 or more.

theshoppingchannel.com:
I never thought I would shop from theshoppingchannel.com but they started to get some really good stuff – smashbox, Fushion Beauty, stila, Korres, etc (although not the complete list of products for each brand). The shipping is usually around $6.96 CAD and is discounted when you purchase multiple items. Ships fast, packs well and arrives quickly.

Fruits & Passion Canada: fruits-passion.com

loccitane.ca:
Shipping is $12.00 CAD (free on orders $100.00 or more) which can be a deterrent if you just want to buy a little something, but they ship by UPS which explains the cost. Beautifully packed and ships fast. They also give you an option of signature required or not so you can have UPS leave the parcel at your door at your own risk. Samples are good too – if the shipping is half the cost I imagine that they would do even more business here!

dhccare.ca:
They were good when I ordered from them in the US and they are just as good here. Each order comes with 4 samples (your choice). Shipping is $10.00 but is free on orders $120.00 or more. A little steep if you just want 1 or 2 small items, which could hurt them, but I am sure most of their customers will meet their $120.00 free shipping requirement.

Sears.ca:
I have shopped 3 times from sears.ca and all 3 times are the same – shipping is about $6 – $7 (depending on the weight) but free if you do in-store pick up. I have done both and believe it or not, things that are listed as ‘in stock’ take at least 2 weeks to be shipped. Items that were couriered did not even come with packing at all (they just put a rather fragile item inside a mailing bag without bubble cushioning). With my first order, it took over 3 weeks for an in-stock product and I had to call and ask how much longer I would have to wait, the customer service agent was rude and not helpful at all. I would not shop from sears.ca again for anything else, and bad experiences like these also make me not want to shop at their physical locations.
