Product Review: DHC Mild Touch Cleansing Oil

This ‘mild touch’ cleansing oil isn’t new to Asians, who have been lucky to have it long ago (don’t they just have all the good stuff?!!), but I remember the last ‘mild touch’ version we had in the US was a blue bottle, ‘Soft Touch’ version which is pretty much the same thing. With the original Deep Cleansing Oil, you use it with dry hands on dry face to melt the makeup, this mild touch version can be used wet even in the shower. Read more…

Product Review: Kanebo Impress IC Brightening Make Off

Time and time again, I would venture outside DHC’s Cleansing Oil and ended up running back to it, because it was the best makeup remover EVER. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Fancl’s Mild Cleansing Oil and Haba’s 33% Squalane infused cleansing oil too (which I find even superior to DHC’s), but the accessibility (or the lack thereof) of Fancl and Haba held me back. Laneige’s cleansing oil is available just 5 minutes from my house and yet I did not like the thick-gunk texture – very oily and not easy to remove.

Until I tried Kanebo Impress IC Brightening Make Off, I would have been perfectly happy to repurchase DHC’s Cleansing Oil via dhccare.ca. I don’t know what’s with Kanebo’s skin care and makeup because everything I have tried under the Kanebo roster, I love it!!! Base makeup and skin care by Kanebo are a perfect fit for my skin type (dry, sensitive and dehydrated). They even got the scent (mild, super pleasant fragrance) right.

Product Review: Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil

Currently, I am half way down my bottle of Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil. I love Kose in all its products – from the cheaper lines to the department store brands – and I have almost never come across a Kose product that I don’t like.

Seikisho’s Perfect Cleansing Oil is one of the many cleansing oils I have tried – and while it does a pretty good job removing all makeup, I still prefer DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil. The main ingredient of Seikisho’s Perfect Cleansing Oil is mineral oil – which, considering its price tag, is not on par with DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil, which uses olive oil as a main ingredient and contains no petrochemicals (no mineral oil) or preservatives. I also find that Seikisho’s Perfect Cleansing Oil has a slightly tougher time removing waterproof mascaras compared to DHC’s.
