I bought this from Sephora when I fell in love with it at first sight. I have been lemming for some nice cruelty-free eyeshadows for a while, and after checking where they are made, I discovered that a lot of them are now made in China. Smashbox has some made in China too, so I checked but this was made in the USA, so it was a go!

This palette contains 8  eye shadows in Bliss (matte beige), Rosewater (pink sheen), Opal (opalescent sheen), Mist (shimmering silver mauve), Adobe (matte warm light brown), Champagne (shimmering peach beige), Pebble (matte neutral brown), Lilac (soft lilac sheen).

This is the prettiest eyeshadow palette I have ever used. It is my personal preference because I know what looks good on me and what doesn’t – usually, I don’t look good in dark colors (I don’t fare well with smoky eyes – I look bruised instead of sexy!), and I prefer a more sheer wash of colors on my lids (you don’t see those Japanese models with too-dark shadows in VoCE or Biteki, do you?). I know my limits and I usually stay within them. I don’t have very prominent bone structures and with my fair skin, very pigmented shadows don’t look good on me.

I know this shadow palette claims to have highly pigmented shadows, but it isn’t really. I actually love it for that. I don’t want the shadows to be too pigmented, so this works out just fine for me. Even the darker shades in this palette are very wearable on me.

What I love about Smashbox, as I am also using their primers every now and then, is that they proudly bear the bunny logo, taking the guess work out of what’s cruelty free and what’s not. I will for sure buy more of their products since they have such professional, long wearing and effective makeup – all without torturing and killing helpless animals!
