When it comes to cleansing, you don’t have to spend top $$$ on Japanese or Korean products to get a good one.
Kose’s Softymo is one of its affordable brands, sold at drugstores in Japan and widely available in Asia. It specializes in mostly cleansing products – makeup removers, cleansing oil and foams – and they do the job pretty well especially given the price. I got the Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil for US$11 and it performs just as well as a more expensive cleansing oil.
The texture is very fluid, not thick (DHC’s is thick), runny, so when you pump it into your palms it will spill if you don’t hold it properly in your palms. It does the job well – melting away stubborn waterproof mascaras (requires a bit of work but not too bad) and makeup rather quickly and easily. It has no fragrance or color and does not irritate my skin or strip it of moisture afterwards. I do follow with a cleansing foam to complete the double cleansing, though this one doesn’t feel like it leaves any residue.
The price is highly affordable, so a high chance of repurchase!
