Product Review: Fusion Beauty LipFusion XL

Fusion Beauty LipFusion XL (deluxe mini), 1.5g

I got this as part of a mini set (with Lashfusion XL) on during a clearance event, at US$3.75. It was too good a price to pass up! While I wasn’t too crazy about Lashfusion (reviewed a long time ago), I had wanted to try LipFusion since nothing – I mean NOTHING – had worked on my dry, dehydrated lips with increasingly prominent lip wrinkles.

Fusion Beauty Lip & Lash XL set, US$3.75 from awhile ago.

I have read rave reviews about LipFusion, which is supposed to plump those annoying vertical lip lines on your lips (not talking about those smoker’s lines outside and around the mouth – I don’t smoke) and inflate the lips. I have tried lip plumpers from Clinique, Sally Hansen but never quite got the bee stung look. They tingle, but beyond that, don’t do much. The rating on on this product is so good that I had high hopes for it, but after one month of nightly use (as directed), I didn’t notice the slightest bit of difference in my lips in terms of hydration, lines or size. It claims to have accumulative effect but I didn’t experience any. While there is an immediate tingle (which isn’t uncomfortable), the only difference is that the very wet, glossy look gives the optical illusion that your lips aren’t as lined, but they are, as visible under the thick gloss like texture.

It also didn’t last all night. By morning, my lips are visibly dry, with all the gloss gone, and I don’t ever sleep on my lips! (;

The full size, a bit over 8g, retails at US$50! While I certainly won’t complain about paying US$3.75 for a mini size of 1.5g of this (plus a mini mascara), I am sure I will not splurge that much on a full size lip gloss!

Bottom line: this didn’t work for me, and the full size price tag is ridiculous for a clear lip gloss.
