Product Review: Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose, CAD$7.99
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose, CAD$7.99

I was never a lipstick person to begin with, and most of the lipsticks I had all dried my lips after an hour or two, even if they claim not to. I also don’t want to ingest lead or other chemicals in my body, the lips being the perfect place to do it, so I wanted my lip products to be as natural as they can be. Most importantly, now that I am a mom, I don’t have the luxury of taking out my fancy schmancy lipsticks to reapply after a meal or in the middle of an outing – I need something to be so user friendly that I won’t need a mirror, and I need that something to be easily carried. A tinted lip balm – which I had been using – is the perfect solution.

Burt’s Bees is one of my personal favorite companies because it uses all natural ingredients and is cruelty free. I had used their regular lip balms (no color) before and enjoyed them, so when I saw that they had the tinted lip balms with just a hint of color, I went for it. And $7.99 is far less than all of my lipsticks too. It is also 100% natural, so no worries if I occasionally lick my lips!

Me wearing Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose. It's sheer enough that you can still see my lip freckle! 😉

The Rose shade is like a neutral medium red, just a little bit darker than my own natural lip color. Unlike some of the tinted lip balms, this doesn’t leave a glossy finish, but your lips will look moist. The color lasts long enough – though like most lip products, and because of my own dry lips, I do find that after an hour or two, I have to reapply just to moisturize my lips again. Since it is not pigmented that much, I have no need for a mirror, so reapplying isn’t a hassle at all. It is just like reapplying a lip balm – no need to check with a mirror.

The scent is slightly fruity and very natural and pleasant. I love how moist my lips feel after each application.

All in all, a very nice lip balm with a hint of very natural color. Will definitely repurchase!

Thanks Kirsti-Marie! 🙂 It’s pretty good for the price, better than Fresh’s version. 😉
