Benefit isn’t one of my ‘staple’ brands but there are a few products I like (including High Beam). This brightening face primer is pink-tinted to give your skin a nice rosy glow and has a very mild sweet fragrance.

The texture is semi-cream and lotion, not thick or runny, I believe this is the kind of texture I want in a primer as it is not too siliconish. It’s not as creamy as Shiseido The Makeup’s Smoothing Veil (which I normally use) but because this is pink-tinted, I find that it won’t leave any white cast on my face the way Smoothing Veil does if you use a little too much. Even though I was afraid the pink hue will be too pink for me (since my skin has yellow undertones) this actually does brighten my skin without looking any particular hue. I like that because I hate any color-correcting primers. Like Bobbi Brown used to say, those color-correcting primers tend to look exactly like the color in the tube on your skin. You use a green primer and your skin will have a green cast! You may not even notice it until it shows up in pictures!

Anyhow, I must warn you that even though it’s not greasy and does leave a nice glow on my skin, this probably will be better for someone with drier skin (unless you use a setting powder on top). On oily skin the ‘glow’ can easily translate to greasy although it doesn’t feel greasy it may look it. For me, I am happy with this – I find that it does smooth out the dehydration lines on my forehead and make my skin luminous. I don’t even use a powder over it and the radiance lasts all day (I use this alone without foundation or powder).

All in all, a good product!
