After trying Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray and not completely satisfied, I moved on to Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Eden, slightly cheaper than Benefit’s and seemed to have a devoted following – hoping to find my staple eye primer. This is not the original version by the way – the original version seems to have a better reputation among users. This one comes in one shade called Eden, listed as a tawny nude shade that leaves a matte finish.

The texture of this product is much thinner and easier to blend than Benefit’s, and doesn’t dry as quickly as Benefits. I don’t find this as drying as Benefits and while it doesn’t sting my eyes, the shade is very light, even on my fair skin. I suspect that this could be a big problem with people having darker skin, or even a medium skin tone will find this too light. I like the finish of this better than Benefit’s, and you need to use a little less, but after awhile, I find my eyes very itchy because this is drying. The only good thing is that it really doesn’t crease (nor will the shadows that go on it).

So my search is still on! I am going to try the Clarins eye base next, since lately everything Clarins seems to do wonders for me.

Bottom line: this is ok, but the shade is too light and not suitable for people with medium or darker skin tones.
