Shiseido The Makeup almost never disappoints me (the odd times were from using the wrong products for my skin type) but I am on the fence on this one. This new product claims to be smudge-proof, and it’s volumizing, lengthening and curling in one.

The really good thing about this mascara is that it does an amazing job of separating and lengthening the lashes, and holding up the curls. The wearability is up to Shiseido’s standards – it is smudge free, which is better than even Lancome’s Hypnose or Diorshow Black Out mascaras, which tend to make their way down half way through the day.

The only weakness of this mascara is the volume (or the lack thereof). I find my lashes really wimpy even after the first coat. A second coat is a must and if you want those va-va-voom lashes, you will need at least 3-4 coats. With Lancome’s Hypnose, one coat will already give you great volume, but Perfect Mascara isn’t perfect in that it doesn’t give you thick lashes unless you apply a minimum of 3 coats or more.

Updated to add: This flakes! Perhaps that’s why it did not claim to be flake-proof.
