SKII, the pioneer in cloth essence sheet masks, has another breakthrough product that is very buzz-worthy – a new disc mask that literally melts right into your skin!

This program consists of 3 pieces – 2 Whitening Source Melting Essence Films and 1 Whitening Source Derm Revival Mask, which goes on top of the melting flims. Each of the discs contains 7 drops(!) of Whitening Source DermDefinition, and dissolves onto your skin in just 15 minutes.

The mask contains SKII’s patented ingredient Pitera®, Vitamin C derivative, Niacinamide, yeast amino-peptide and inositol, all the goodies that will improve the clarity of your skin.

The program, used as indicated, has a time release effect of 8 hours, and the product claims that you will see results in just 5 days if used daily as directed.

Being a huge fan of the Facial Treatment Essence Mask, I cannot wait to try this one! (Using the gorgeous Qiqi as a spokesmodel certainly doesn’t hurt!)

This revolutionary product will be on sale in Asia starting April 21, 2009. (Only samples available right now)

Chanced upon your site while surfing the net and I just wanted to ask, can the SKII Smart Whitening help with red acne scars?

Hi Belle, thanks for stopping by!

The translation and product descriptions vary from Chinese to Japanese to English, but the US site does claim that the Whitening essence from SKII (or various whitening products) can lighten minor acne scarring, although these whitening products are primarily designed for freckles and discolorations.

Some of my old customers had said that SKII’s whitening stuff does work on their acne scars, but like anything skin care, it really depends on the individual. It will also take a while to work as well.

Hope this helps! (sorry I am a little late in replying, couldn’t login for a few days!)

Have you tried this mask yet? What do you think of it? I have some questions about some product not listed on your blog, is there anyway I can contact you about those? I recently look on, and I see a slimming product called 2B that claims to get rid belly fat, have you heard of this or know any info about it’s effectiveness? Also I recently came across an eye cream call IS clinical youth eye complex which claim to get rid of wrinkle, dark circle and eyebag within 2 weeks, the photos look promising, do you know about this product? I have read reviews about these two products, but I don’t really trust the reviews online, I only trust your reviews and other users that came here to review, especially those users that came in to do review on the History of Whoo products, all their recommendations are truly amazing.

      Dear Tuyet,

I have tried SKII’s whitening masks (which came in various upgrades over the years) – I prefer the Facial Treatment Mask though. Nothing wrong with the whitening masks but I think you need to use it very often to see results (which will break the bank!). With the Facial Treatment Mask, you see results right away so I prefer using that and it hydrates a lot better too.

Hmmm those slimming products are mostly gimmicks, really. Clever marketing makes it sound effortless – some are shower gels and claim to burn calories off…there are no regulations on these products so they can be rather rampant. The only way to shed the pounds and keep them off are exercise and a good balanced healthy diet!

I have heard of IS Clinical, there are a lot of these cosmoceutical brands out there nowadays. usually have tons of reviews on each product but sometimes these more medical brands may not have too many reviews. All I can say is that a lot of eye products are hit or miss, I have tried some of the professional (spa treatment) products and they don’t necessarily work better than mainstream department store brands either. The most they do is hydrate the eye areas but not necessarily take out circles and stuff.

      Dear nami,

Thank you for your comments!!!! 🙂

Unfortunately, it’s really not easy to buy authentic SKII with confidence!!! Even here in Canada, it’s not easy… ships to India, but they do charge an arm and a leg. however, after buying suspicious stuff from strawberrynet I am very cautious when it comes to brands that are so frequently counterfeited. I am sorry but I don’t trust any unauthorized SKII dealers online – there are too many fakes around!

For other brands that aren’t so frequently counterfeited, you can always try ebay. Especially Korean brands – just get from the Korean sellers. kgoodshop is one of the most trusted Korean sellers. They carry The History of Whoo, Laneige, Sulwhasoo, etc., and often with sample sizes so you don’t have to commit to full sizes until after you try., and all carry many Japanese brands too. I have purchased a lot of stuff from them over the years, although I did not buy SKII from their other products are genuine. I only buy SKII from authorized dealers only and unfortunately most of the ones online are not!

      Dear nami,

Indeed, it is very pricey!!! It depends what your skin is like too – if your pigmentation is quite severe, you will need the Jinaek Program. I suggest buying samples – kgoodshop and other sellers have those 20 pc or 40 pc they sell as a set, which adds up to a full size product but at a fraction of the price. I liked using the Seol line as a whole because everything worked to give me very clear skin, but if you are on a budget, the musts are Skin Balancer, Whitening Essence, Lotion and Whitening Cream. The Jinaek Program gave me rapid results when used together with the rest – you can try to get the sample packets for very little money. You will need to get some containers to store them because each packet is enough for a few uses.

kgoodshop doesn’t list everything on ebay but you can email him at kgoodshop[at] I bought stuff from him without going through ebay because it wasn’t listed and he was able to sell it to me, and even with shipping included. Very good seller and he packs well too. A very nice man to deal with. 🙂

Another option is to get the starter kit for the Seol line at It sells for $60 for the trial set and it will last you 2-3 weeks (3 weeks if you only use at night). It has the cleansing foam, skin Balancer, lotion, whitening intensive (which is very pricey for the full size version), brightening peel-off pack. It is the same one as in my picture. The Peel Off pack gives instant results and accumulatively brightens a lot! 🙂
