The name Joseibi comes from Japanese: ‘josei’ means feminine and ‘bi’ means beauty. Joseibi.com was an online store for popular Asian products between 2003 and 2007. Since August 2007, Joseibi.com has ceased to be an ecommerce, but continued to be a significant source of information on many popular beauty products, with reviews on many skincare and makeup products. Our articles on dehydration, cleansing oil, Asian 5-step skincare regimen, double-cleansing and product shelf life remain a popular source of reference on the internet.
Since we are no longer an ecommerce, we have much more liberty to discuss brands we did not and will not sell, and we can also be very neutral and impartial when we give our reviews.
Currently, Joseibi.com is contemplating only having vegan and/or cruelty-free products on our blog. It will involve significant time and effort to remove animal-tested brands and their products from Joseibi.com, a project that may take over a period of a few months or more. As revenue continued to dwindle, that decision has not been made yet, not in the least because of any second thoughts but more concerned with the amount of time required for such a switch. If revenue does not pick up, Joseibi.com may decide whether or not to continue as a blog, or simply stop updating the blog but leave the blog online for it to fulfill its purpose of being an informational website.
