I had great expectations of this product – I generally like Laneige’s makeup, and this one is cheap compared to Laura Mercier’s or Bobbi Brown’s. Bobbi Brown’s concealer pact comes with a setting powder and has good reviews, but it is twice as expensive as Laneige’s. I want to see whether this is a great buy for the money, since it’s only CAD$20.00.

I have wanted to try this set for a long time, but was afraid it was too rich for spring/summer. I finally tried it in August, in the middle of the heat wave in Toronto, and to my surprise, my skin absorbed it very well.

I am glad to see more and more cruelty-free and earth-friendly brands at Sephora!

The infomercial-looking packaging should have been a tell-tale sign, but I blame myself for a temporary lapse in judgment. You see, I had (past tense) the tendency to buy something I didn’t need just because it’s on sale. I had ended up with some pretty ugly sweaters and sub-par skincare before, and this one totally fits into that particular category.

All I wanted was a sheer, hydrating product with an SPF. But somehow, it became a neverending quest.

Just when I was convinced that I will not be able to use Japanese makeup again due to my anti-animal testing stance, I was overjoyed when I spotted Koh Gen Do on Sephora.com!

Luxury With A Conscience.

Gone are the days where earth friendly skincare and cosmetics looked and felt like homemade potions slapped with blurry inkjet printed labels. Josie Maran, one of my all-time favorite supermodels back in the day when models looked pretty and healthy, showed us that a cruelty-free brand can be grand and yet recyclable without torturing animals.

Since the beginning of summer, the revenue on Joseibi.com had hit rock-bottom and the lowest of all time. I feel discouraged and because I am a working parent, it is not easy for me to upkeep the blog, keep reviewing new products and update the site.

This is a prime example of cruel beauty.

I felt compelled to share this, even though the knowledge of animal testing is nothing new.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came across AmorePacific Korea’s official store on eBay!

I have read good reviews about Avance’s lash serum being used on eyebrows, and having naturally sparse and faint eyebrows, I wanted to give this a try, since this doesn’t cost an arm and a leg like most lash serums. I bought this online (available widely – adambeauty.com, alphabeautyuk on ebay, etc.) for about US$20.00.

I have this bad habit of eyeing sales even when I had a large cache of goodies stashed away in drawers and medicine cabinet. Lately, revenue from the blog has dropped so much that I was forced to stop buying new products, and I decided to take a look at what I have, and discovered that I already have more than enough for another six months at least.
