Due to my allergies and sleep deprivation, my eyes have become very tired-looking, with puffy eyelids and dark circles. Not pretty. And eye creams are either hit-or-miss. Since I already have tonnes of eye cream samples (from Whoo, Isa Knox, Sooryehan, etc.), I didn’t want to spend too much on something that I need to only depuff my lids. And even then, I find that most eye creams fail me.

Hoping not to spend more than $30 on a loose powder to blot out the summer shine, I found this at one of my favourite ebay sellers, alphabeautyuk, for US$20.95. I wanted a translucent (no color), non-drying powder just to prevent shine from my sunscreens, and had originally wanted the Loose Powder from Shiseido The Makeup (CAD$42.00), but because I hardly really use base makeup, and had splurged way too much on skincare of late, I had to continue cutting my makeup budget.

I have this as part of my 500-point kit, and had another one from another starter kit so I have a total of 120ml (4 fl.oz.). After being disappointed with the other two Philosophy bestsellers, I wasn’t particularly excited to try this product, since this is another one of their star products too. But when I took a whiff of this product, I was encouraged by the pleasant, natural scent (this is unscented), so finally, I gave this a shot.

This came with my 500-point redemption Philosophy kit at Sephora months ago, but I only used this in June 2011. Again, catchy name and phrase from Philosophy and seemingly garnered a legion of fans. But is this too a hype?

“Where there is hope there can be faith. Where there is faith miracles can occur.” Sounds good, doesn’t it? Philosophy gives its products rather catchy names, and catchy names with quotes like that give great promises. This so-called cult-hit moisturizer is supposed to be a deeply hydrating, oil-free, lightweight wonder designed to smooth the complexion while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration. Originally created for the medical market, this expert essential delivers soft, healthy, glowing results.
