My experience with this Vichy product shows that even a hardcore beauty junkie like me can descend into temporary lapse of judgment in times of desperation.

My experience with this Vichy product shows that even a hardcore beauty junkie like me can descend into temporary lapse of judgment in times of desperation.

I got this box of 45ml Sanghwang Jin Hyangyungo cream along with a vial of Cho-aek(beginning serum) at 5ml and eye cream at 10ml for about Canadian $65, when in Toronto doing research leave in February 2010. Having gone through a long bout of winter in Calgary, where the skin was virtually dehydrated and also having gone through another bout of winter(a more humid Lake-weather version) in Toronto, my skin was badly in need of a moisturizer which could help stave off the dryness that was emerging although I had combination skin.

I bought this about a month ago from kgoodshop, at US$40.00 and had been using it ever since. Because my skin is now more dehydrated combination (with dehydration fine lines on forehead still), I had to update my skincare regimen to avoid overly rich and greasy creams and packs. This was more of a moisture pack rather than lipid, and was so inexpensive, I decided to give it a try.

I am now reposting a long overdue entry on the Sansim Yang Myeong Su and Yang Myeong Aek series, as well as samples of the Ja Yang Essence, which I used sometime back and yet did not find time to write about. Sansim, as I last wrote, is manufactured by Hankook Cosmetics, which also manufactures The Saem, endorsed by Lee Seung Gi, a young and popular rising star and singer in South Korea. Its selling point is 110 years wild ginseng extract, also known more precisely as wild ginseng adventitious root extract in its ingredients list.

I found this review under my Draft section dated back to Spring 2010! Somehow I had forgotten to publish this so finding it again felt like a kid discovering a hidden stash of candies.
Original Review:

I wrote this on behalf of Joseibi as one of the guest writers whom she invited, since I have access to more stuff over here in Asia than most European and North American readers and users of skincare made in Korea and Japan. Just to give you an idea of my skin type, I am 34, have combination oily skin, and currently reside in Singapore for the time being.

This is the last of the HERA samples that I tried. I received this generous sample (10ml) from royalbeautycosmetics.com with purchase late last year and I used it last month for 2 weeks.
There isn’t a whole lot of info (in English at least) on this product (or most of the HERA products) so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I assume this is anti-aging because of the ‘collagenic’ name.

I was excited to see a follow from Skinfood Canada on Twitter – and more importantly, they now ship to Canada!!

I notice that several posters here (e.g. Kev Jang) who have used a lot of the other products I haven’t tried, and if you are one of them and want to post your reviews on joseibi.com, please reply to this message. You must be a registered user (so I can grant access to you) in order to post your reviews here. It would be nice for everyone to see more reviews on products I have no access to – Hannule, for example – you can write as many or as few as you wish!
Sincerely,
Joseibi

I saw this in my May 2011 issue of VoCE magazine (with Rinka as cover model) and thought I should check this out. This is a new silicone face mask that produces a sauna effect for the face, and it is supposedly great for eliminating waste from the skin among other things.

I had a generous load of samples from my purchase at royalbeautycosmetics.com a while back and am still going through a lot of the samples! I have a week’s supply of Hera Whitelixir Cleansing Foam EX and used it back in December, but forgot to write a review. Good thing that I wrote a list of reviews to write or I would have forgotten this completely!

Brow makeup is as essential to me as breakfast; without it, I look sick and pale, being cursed with naturally faint eyebrows without defined ends. Oftentimes though, I find that an accidental pullover of my shirt or sweater over my face and head can rub off part of my brows (especially the ends). I am also wary of swimming and sweating, afraid of ‘losing’ my brow makeup. When I discovered that B&C Lab (Japan) has a product to seal the eyebrow makeup at such a reasonable price (US$11.99), I didn’t hesitate to snatch up on one.

Part of my shopping channel haul was this microdermabrasion/facial scrub: Leaf & Rusher Rapid Resurface, which I bought at CAD$29.00 at the time (Currently on clearance sale on theshoppingchannel.com for CAD$23.00). As I reviewed Leaf & Rusher previously, I was curious about this brand, since Dr. Leaf was the pioneer in medical spa in Hollywood area.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Jasper Cosmetics has a facebook page now! And if you live in the GTA area and still haven’t bought your Mother’s Day gifts, Jasper Cosmetics currently has a sale on (sale is on only several times a year!)!

I purchased this on sale at theshoppingchannel.com at half price, which is about the price I paid for the RoC wrinkle filler I reviewed last. I used this before I purchased the RoC wrinkle filler, for about a month and a half, in conjunction with my staple products. I mainly wanted to see how a high end retinol product compares to a drug store brand, and after using this serum, I finally confirm my initial suspicion: that despite some people (including dermatologists) saying that drugstore retinol is the same as department store retinol products, they really are not of the same quality and grade.

Desperate to try to smooth out the fine lines on my forehead, I started foraying into the world of retinol anti-wrinkle treatments. After doing some research, I found RoC (which heavily advertises in Biteki for years) to be a reasonably priced brand (French drugstore brand) and gave the wrinkle filler a try.

With Spring-like weather finally here in Toronto, I find that my skin has become less dry, more combination, though still dehydrated. I had to change my whole set of skincare since about a month ago! I was using IOPE Sunblock White (US$35.00 at kgoodshop, CAD$49.00 plus taxes at Amore Canada), which has been my HG sunscreen for several years, especially in the winter time. However, it has become a little too rich for my skin now that the humidity is high in the air, and it has given me too much shine so I decided to find a lighter texture sunscreen just for this season.
