We all have to deal with puffy eyes at one time or another. Here are the known solutions for treating the common puffy eyes:

Puffiness can be caused by excessive salt/sodium intake in the body. The best thing for your eyes and body is to stay away from salty foods – beware of processed food (loaded in sodium) and seasonings such as soy sauce. After a salty meal, try to drink a large glass of water or a cup of green or chamomile tea before bedtime to flush out the sodium from your body.

I have this particularly regimen in summer – I use Origins Checks and Balances every year from June to August. I may not change the rest of my routine (my skin is dry so I still use moisturizer and night cream at night) but somehow this habit of using Checks and Balances sticks. Especially after all the recent boom of anything organic and non-toxic skin care, Origins appeals to me more and more.

I don’t normally wear any foundation or powder (I am not acne-prone or anything) but because of allergies some days I will have redness around my eyes close to my cheeks. If you suffer from the same thing you would know that most concealers offer limited shades, the closest match still standing out too much to wear alone. Not so with M.A.C.’s range of concealers! Am I glad that there is actually one brand that will do the same range of shades for its concealers as in its foundations!

This is one of Benefit’s most adored cult favorites – a luminescent complexion enhancer that gives your skin a rosy pink glow. The pink hue isn’t obvious though – it just goes on your skin and makes it radiant. It didn’t take me very long to

The texture is semi-cream and lotion, not thick or runny, I believe this is the kind of texture I want in a primer as it is not too siliconish. It’s not as creamy as Shiseido The Makeup’s Smoothing Veil (which I normally use) but because this is pink-tinted, I find that it won’t leave any white cast on my face the way Smoothing Veil does if you use a little too much. Even though I was afraid the pink hue will be too pink for me (since my skin has yellow undertones) this actually does brighten my skin without looking any particular hue. I like that because I hate any color-correcting primers. Like Bobbi Brown used to say, those color-correcting primers tend to look exactly like the color in the tube on your skin. You use a green primer and your skin will have a green cast! You may not even notice it until it shows up in pictures!

This article was originally written by me and posted on Joseibi.com a few years ago but now back by popular demand:
“I am one of the many people who just can’t seem to find the right products that work for me. I am in my late 20s, my face is not oily, just a bit on my T-zone. The pores on my nose are not that big, but rather, the ones on [...]

Sometimes there are thousands of good reviews on a product but it doesn’t mean it will work for you – but this one actually does what it claims, and so much more! In the official product description it doesn’t claim to volumize, but it actually does! And lengthens too. It does a lot more than just conditioning your lashes or make the mascara adhere better. It also serves as a definer/volumizer/lengthener under your mascara!

Here are the before and after pictures:

I had used Diorshow Mascara before (including the Blackout) and found the formula to be quite wet – it doesn’t dry quickly and can smudge in a short period of time. The waterproof version, despite not easily removable, is very similar to its non-waterproof version – it smudges easily if you apply more than one coats.

Because I don’t use any foundation or powder, I was looking for a translucent setting powder just to keep the summer sebum at bay and set as a base for my Too Faced Caribbean In A Compact (review to follow later) which is a powder luminizer/bronzer. It’s not easy to find a truly translucent powder; some claim to be and yet the powder oxidizes and even changes the color of the makeup that goes under or over it. I need a truly colorless powder that even if I sweat it won’t cake on me.
