I have heard complaints from so many people, that the ‘HD’ or skin perfecting makeup they use doesn’t do anything. You might have wondered if the term HD really means anything when it comes to makeup; given the trend of everything HD nowadays, sometimes you have to wonder whether the cosmetics companies are using the words loosely.

But from my own experience, HD makeup isn’t necessarily just gimmick – when you have the right products and use them the right way, HD makeup can make you look flawless in a very natural way. Case in point – try Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Blush. HD Microfinish Blush combines mattifying and reflecting powders to create a soft-focus effect for a radiant complexion. Its ultra-fine, second-skin texture blends seamlessly, imparting a healthy glow that’s hard not to notice. Since it is made with evaporating oils, the texture is light and melts right into your skin, which makes the glow very natural.

There are times when I complain about all the fillers used in serums and emulsions – especially when there is a heavy silicone feel to the products – but there are times, as rare as they come, when I wish they would add some fillers to the products to make them at least feel a little more effective. As much as I normally love DHC for not using too many unnecessary fillers in their products, I actually wish they put a little silicone dimethicone in the Olive Leaf Extract!

I have tricky hair – if I put conditioner near my scalp my hair will feel greasy the next day (at the scalp); and yet, my ends could use a little nourishment. Over the years I have learned to stay clear of my scalp when I use conditioner, but even with the many shampoos and conditioners I have used, I can’t seem to achieve that normal, balanced scalp with healthy hair. Until I use DHC’s After Bath Hair Treatment Oil, that is.

When this product came out, I did a preview on it and I am glad to say that this is probably one of the best eyebrow products I have ever tried, and I have tried plenty. In fact, after just a few uses, it has become one of my staple products in my train case.

This is a very small compact by the way, it easily fits into even a small purse. The compact is light, sleek and very thin so it really is convenient to carry with you, even if it’s a trip to the gym.

When it comes to wearability, Suqqu is it. The latest makeup collection called Kisui designed for Spring/Summer (S/S) is another highly wearable color collection comprised of neutral shades (brown, khaki and pink variations):

The Luminizing Lip Gloss is one of the new items that was released recently. If you are a fan of the original, old version of the lip gloss, this one is non-sticky and is highly moisturizing, as are most Shiseido lip products. There are eight barely-there shades to choose from, very sheer and shimmery.

I have always wondered why Shiseido The Makeup (international line) has such limited color choices compared to other major brands. As much as I am a big fan of their lipsticks, the shade selection is lacking to a point that I cannot find a shade I like enough to buy one.

If there is one thing you can count on Amorepacific’s star brand Laneige, it’s the ultra feminine and pretty designs. The new Spring 2010 collection, Ornament, is a very pretty pastel lavender and pink collection, very floral and soft, similar to the colors in Dior’s new Spring campaign, Dentelle.
