This serum is for dehydrated skin, and no kidding, it hydrates really well! I have dry, sensitive and dehydrated skin and it absorbs like a super thirsty sponge. After the first two days my skin did a minor breakout (two bumps) but it settled without incident after that. My skin had been so dehydrated I guess it wasn’t used to such rich hydration all of a sudden!

The texture of the cream is very soft, not overly greasy but it really does a great job of moisturizing my dehydrated, dry and sensitive skin. You don’t need a whole lot if you want to use makeup during the day (it will tend to smear) but at night, layer it on if you need the extra moisture and you wake up to super supple skin, which I had not seen since before I hit 30. I have been using this for only 2 weeks, 2 weeks short of a month, which is how long I usually use a skin care product before I give a review, but so far, the results are good. I get my supple, well hydrated skin back in just 2 weeks, with no break outs. It actually plumps those dehydration lines on my forehead that I had been having for at least a couple of years!

I bought the bonus size (400 ml) for the same price (US$29.50/CAD$34.00) for this cleansing milk by Clarins at Christmas and ever since I started using it, I cannot get enough of it! It is not the best makeup remover (DHC’s cleansing oils are still the best) but I use it as a regular cleanser and this stuff actually can remove most of the makeup, except very waterproof makeup. The scent is a bit strong but refreshingly pleasant. It is very gentle and does not irritate my sensitive dry skin. It doesn’t leave my skin dry either, which is a plus since my skin is horribly dehydrated in winter.

I have always been very fond of KATE, a super affordable line by Kanebo, finding it to be very good quality for the money. The average product from the KATE line costs about US$10, equivalent to drug store brands in North America. The quality of KATE, however, is far superior to the drug store brands here, and can hold its own against some of the western department store brands.

I have read complaints about the Anew line’s fragrance but have never found it to be repugnant, until I tried the Rejuventate Mineral Mask. Copying Caudalie’s brush design, this mask sounded so good…and being a fan of the Anew Rejuvenate line, I didn’t hesitate to buy this when it first debuted at CAD$19.95 on Avon.ca

This ‘mild touch’ cleansing oil isn’t new to Asians, who have been lucky to have it long ago (don’t they just have all the good stuff?!!), but I remember the last ‘mild touch’ version we had in the US was a blue bottle, ‘Soft Touch’ version which is pretty much the same thing. With the original Deep Cleansing Oil, you use it with dry hands on dry face to melt the makeup, this mild touch version can be used wet even in the shower.

The latest collection from Estee Lauder is a collaboration with Michael Kors for Spring 2010 (Yes, we are really in 2010, believe it or not!) called Very Hollywood. The collection boasts upbeat sunshine shades and classic film noir eyes. It may not be your traditional pinks and pastels kind of spring makeup but this is über sexy!!
